Power Skating

The power skating program targets hockey and ringette players who would like to increase their speed, agility/speed, technique and endurance.

XSS Power uses a variety of tools such as parachutes, harnesses and bungees for training.

We work on all the elements of skating: Forwards, Backwards, Stops/Starts, Crossovers (forwards and backwards) and Turns.

Turns and Starts/stops are worked on by emphasizing proper technique, edges and balance.

For Forwards and Backwards skating, proper stride technique is stressed and focused on.

While sessions have lots of “skill development focus”, we also try to add FUN into our sessions.

XSS Power has great success with incorporating the use of “special gear” in our sessions.
Full gear is mandatory for all sessions, including sticks.

All coaches in the program are experienced in the delivery of our program.
